Challenge

The client required a enterprise data warehousing environment to perform the key analysis at the corporate level. The new solution need to be developed in the latest Cognos 8.2 reporting and analysis environment. It already had large implementation of Cognos 7 environment that provides the reporting functionalities to the internal and external users. Along with centralized enterprise level solution, the client wanted to migrate the current Cognos 7 environment (around 500 Cognos impromptu reports, around 80 powerplay analysis cubes) to a Cognos 8.2 environment in a phased manner.
